It implies the whole abortion debate (Pro-life vs. pro-choice) near the end, in Tasogare no Savant

But rather than pick a side and do what social justice people usually do

It approaches it by having the main character of the album, a guy named Hiver who died before he was born, ask this question:

Is living really all it’s cracked up to be?

Is is actually good to live?

Or would death be a better option?

Which leads into the story of the actual album: The dolls Violette and Hortense go off around the world, collecting roman - stories. Specifiaclly, stories about life and death. Stories of lives lost, stories of lives gained, of second chances, and the unforgivable. Stories of hope, of despair, of day, of night. Stories that could influence his decision on whether or not to pursue the life he never had one last time, or to simply sink into the slumber of death.

And rather than take a side on either side of the debate, life or death, the final conclusion the album reaches, that Hiver reaches, the final message that Hiver’s mother sends, is this:

Do whatever makes you happy.

He could chose to live if it made him happy. He could simply stay dead if he found life too harsh, that’s fine as long as he’s happy. He could do whatever, he just had to choose whatever made him happy.

And THAT is the the final conclusion that the album reaches on the whole issue: Do whatever the bloody heck will make you happy. Life or death, pick whichever you want, as long as the choice will make you happy.

Of course, the above ignores the whole Michele debacle, but that distracts from the whole point of the album: It’s not about whether or not death is crappier than life, or life is crappier than death, it’s about being happy with what you chose. And THAT is something that people need to shut up and think about.

I drew him once.. only it was from his back. And even then, I ended up turning him into a silhouette.

This time, I figured that I should try practicing grayscale painting and coloring with layer effects on Hiver Laurant (from Sound Horizon’s 5th album Roman).

Ahaha he looks pretty loool. And I would’ve spent more time making this nicer.. but I have a lot of other artwork left to finish soon.
